Extreme Vertical (EV) is the equivalent of high jump in DockDogs competitions. An "EV Rig" suspends a bumper in the air, 8 feet from the dock's edge, with the starting height set at 4 feet 6 inches. Dogs can enter the competition at any height beyond this initial mark, but to progress to the next round, they must successfully release the bumper from the "EV Rig" in two attempts. The bumper height is raised in 2-inch increments until only one dog remains.
